Instant pancake “syrup” recipe!! Usually when I go to make pancakes, I don’t also want to take the time to make the syrup too. Not that it’s hard, it’s just another step, another pot etc. I like quick and easy. I have a DTS heart I think. So I have been making this super easy, instant little sub for a while and thought maybe someone else would like it too!
To make this dairy free, just sub out coconut oil, if you want it to not taste like coconut be sure to find a refined coconut oil, I keep both on hand.
So, as you can see, this takes 3 super easy to find ingredients: BUTTER!!! YAY BUTTER! Maple extract, whatever kind you prefer and liquid stevia, although I am sure powdered Stevia would work too. You can see the full recipe below!

Maple Extract, Stevia, Butter
While this topping does not have the syrupy consistency, it is delicious and easy. It gives the flavor I was craving, quickly and easily!

Melted Ingredients Combined

Instant Pancake "Syrup"
Ingredients
- 1 Tablespoon butter you can use less, but seriously, why?
- 1/4 teaspoon maple extract or flavoring
- Stevia to taste - I used 10 drops I like it sweet
Instructions
- Place your butter in a microwave safe bowl.
- Gently melt in the microwave until completely liquid.
- Add your maple extract and stevia.
- Mix well to combine.
- That's it! Pour over your pancake/waffles and enjoy!
Well isn’t this smart!
I don’t often have the foresight to make maple syrup in advance so I’m stuck craving pancakes with no on plan syrup in sight! This is an awesome sub and great for those drive thru sues!
Ha! Thank you! <3
I am in the same boat, I never have it premade, especially if I am making pancakes for one that morning, this little trick popped in my head out of a sheer craving! Works fabulous!! 🙂 I hope you enjoy it too!
I currently have the THM syrup in the fridge but I’ll be saving this idea. my fridge is to full to keep something in it that I only use once a month. LOL thanks.
LOL! Yes, I never used up that amount of syrup, so one day I made this up last minute! I hope you enjoy!
LOL! Sure! Hope you enjoy!
I am having trouble with proportions here….beings my liquid Stevia only comes out in squirts instead of drops. Would 10 drops be about 1/4 tsp? Or could i use some gentle sweet??…or something? Love the simplicity. Thanks
Oh good question! I would just add some and taste it. I think 10mdrops would be less than 1/4tsp – maybe an 1/8th? Maybe less….
If i made a big batch and refrigerated it could i heat it up several times as needed without it going bad?
Yes! I think that’s a great plan! Cut off what you want and melt it for quick use!
Yes1 great idea!
