Oil of Joy's Homemade Applesauce

A delicious easy to make staple that you can freeze!
Servings 12


  • 8 medium apples peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 1/8-1/4 cup super sweet blend optional
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon optional


  • Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan. Cook over medium heat for 15-20 minutes until apples are cooked down, stirring occasionally. Use a potato masher to complete break them down into applesauce. Enjoy!


You can freeze the applesauce in silicon muffin pans. After frozen, place applesauce pucks in a freezer bag and freeze for later use. I place my frozen applesauce in a glass microwavable container and microwave 1 minute, stir and it is ready to eat or use in baking!
