Banana split….oatmeal?? WHAT? One day, many years ago I wanted dessert. Something decadent and wonderful, but would take less than 10 minutes and didn’t require a microwave. I had just a few things on hand and this is what I came up with! Banana split oatmeal was born!
Some days start out with mornings where you need a little comfort food right? I don’t want eggs, I don’t want a boring bowl of oatmeal….AGAIN. I want something that feels like I am not on a diet, but still fits within my eating goals! Or those evenings I need something warm, sweet and filling, this works perfectly! It satisfies my cravings every time!
Breakfast or dessert, banana split oatmeal comes to the rescue. This super simple recipe was so easy I almost felt silly for sharing, but thanks to a dear encouraging friend, here it is! This is a sugar free wonder! For Trim Healthy Mamas, this would be an E, the chocolate chips would count as your added fat, so be sure to portion those out. For my allergy mamas, this could be made with stevia only, a doonk or two would be enough. The fruit will help sweeten. I think if you don’t have a big sweet tooth, you could even omit and still really enjoy this treat!
The ingredients:
Rolled oats (gluten free or regular work fine, I have linked gluten free for my allergy ladies)
Super Sweet Blend or Stevia Powder
Lily’s Chocolate Chips or for allergy friendly option Pascha Dark Chips
Strawberry Preserves or Make Slim Belly Jelly from the Cookbook
Collagen for added protein, this is optional.
Vanilla
Water and banana!
That’s it! I have most of this on hand at home all the time!
With joy~ Tina 🙂

This was so yummy! Thank you for sharing. I often eat oatmeal, but adding the banana and choc. chips( I recently got the THM brand) was a treat. I did not have the jelly, but it was still very good.
YAY! So glad you liked this! It is decadent! 🙂
This looks delicious but wouldn’t the chocolate chips make it a crossover?
It’s edgy, lol, but if you use it as your added fat for an E meal it works! 🙂 Just use sparingly!
I believe the chocolate chips make it a crossover for sure as they are 11g of fat per Tbl, however, I replaced them with Nunaturals chocolate syrup to stay an E. Still yummy! Thanks
THM chocolate chips have 6 grams of fat per tablespoon.
Would that make it an E?
Yup! It keeps it anE 🙂
THM ones are lower in fat 🙂 You can just cut it back to make it fit in an E if yours are higher 🙂
this is my go-to oatmeal, and i’ve been making it for quite some time for breakfast. instead of the strawberry jelly, i use two fresh strawberries cut into quarters and then sliced. most of the time i skip the choc chips and vanilla extract, and just have the strawberries and banana slices. it’s delicious!
